Honoring Elders, Preserving Traditions
For over two decades, Soaring Eagle has worked to care for Northern Cheyenne elders, ensuring they remain in their community while preserving their culture. At the heart of our mission is the Heritage Living Center, a facility designed to provide compassionate assisted living while safeguarding the wisdom and traditions of the Cheyenne people.
Our Story
Rooted in Compassion and Community
In the 1950s, Father Emmett Hoffmann began his journey with the Northern Cheyenne people, addressing critical needs through schools, homes, and water systems. Despite these achievements, one challenge remained: providing elder care locally. In 1997, Father Emmett founded Soaring Eagle to meet this need, and in 2002, the Heritage Living Center became a reality.
A Mission That Lives On
Today, Soaring Eagle continues to serve the Cheyenne community with no funding from federal, tribal, or religious organizations. Instead, we rely on the generosity of donors to uphold our mission of preserving Native American heritage and ensuring a dignified life for elders.
